Skincare Brands We're Loving

Being "healthy" is most often defined by our diets, whether we’re drinking enough water or getting more fruits and vegetables on our plates. We spend a lot of money on only buying from the organic foods section, and spiralizing veggies in hopes to recreate healthy versions of our favorite meals. While we spend all this time and money on our clean, natural diets, we neglect to address the health aspect of the non-food related things we consume every day. The most common thing we tend to let slip from our minds when thinking of health is  our skincare products. What you put on your body should be just as important as what you put into it, so here’s a list of 5 natural skincare brands Dermatologists love.

AngelLift made their name on Shark Tank  a few years back when Lori agreed to partner up with them. Lori loved the brand's technological approach to natural skincare. Their goal is to offer women painless and natural skincare treatments and products using innovative  technology and chemical free ingredients. Their top-selling product is a removable facial lift that reduces and helps prevent lines and wrinkles around the mouth. These strips, called "Dermastrips" are a natural alternative to chemical injections and fillers. The science here is based on pressure to simply and effectively lift out lines and is as easy to use as teeth whitening strips. These Dermastrips are made of a surgical-grade hydrogel, which is BPA free, paraben free and hypoallergenic. We love how easy they are to use and incorporate into our routine.

This next brand was founded in 2014 with the goal to provide “Clean, conscious, and accessible skincare that empowers women.” The founder, Priscilla Tsai, started out with a personal mission to treat her own extremely sensitive and acne-prone skin when prescription treatments failed her.  To take control of her skin she began experimenting with natural food-based products, mainly coconut oil. Seeing amazing improvements, she then began concocting her own recipes in her kitchen. The most raved about product is the Cocokind Chlorophyll mask. It detoxes, boosts complexion, and reduces inflammation. This mask is packed with chlorophyll, organic spirulina, wheatgrass and chlorella and provides an antioxidant punch that help clear, soothe, and brighten skin. So effective and so versatile, it’s hard not to love this green mask. Add water, facial oils, yogurts, milks, or other carriers to your mask and enjoy your glowing skin.

This next brand is almost a billion-dollar company. Tiffany Masterson launched Drunk Elephant in 2014 after struggling with her own skincare routine and selling homemade cleansing bars as a side hustle. They focus only on ingredients that either directly benefit skin’s health or support the integrity and effectiveness of their formulas.   prides itself on avoiding ubiquitous toxins, sensitizers and irritants from their products and produce only biocompatible formulas. One of their current best sellers is their T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial.  It has a 25% AHA and 2% BHA blend among other beneficial acids as well as natural ingredients like apple fruit, milk thistle, chickpea flour and pumpkin to resurface skin for clarity, improved texture and tone and a more youthful glow. It resurfaces the skin by exfoliating the pore lining and eliminating dead skin cell build up. So if you’re looking an amazing at home facial with spa-like results, give Drunk Elephant a shot.

This Australian-born skincare brand aims to end all your struggles with moisturizing. The key ingredient to their product line is “lanolin”, a by-product of wool washing after the shearing process. The science claims that “lanolin” mimics our natural skin lipids, while holding in moisture and letting the skin breathe for ultimate moisturizing. The brand’s focus is to keep their products natural and cruelty-free. Skincare specialists are impressed with their 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm. This ointment offers 101 uses, hence the name, treating cuticles, lips, keeping brows in shape, and even aiding insect bites. This is a perfect essential to add to your bag for the coming dry weather.

The Colombian-born line named after it’s owner, Tata Harper, has been bringing completely natural and organic products to the table for years. One of the first mainstream skincare lines to boast all natural products, she develops her line at her farm in Vermont. Her lotions, oils, essences and moisturizers are made up of ingredients that are all grown and harvested on her farm. One of her best rated according to skincare specialists’ is her Regenerative Eye Creme. It uses all organically farmed, natural ingredients like lavender, olive oil & mango to reduce the look of lines and puffiness under eyes.

There’s so many skincare brands out there and it would be impossible to buy and try them all so that’s what we do for you. Our favorite thing to do find new brands and amazing products and sharing with anyone who is as obsessed with skincare as we are. Enjoy!
